1. What is hermeneutics?
Hermeneutics /hɜrməˈnjuːtɪks/ is the theory of text interpretation, especially the interpretation of biblical texts, wisdom literature, and philosophical texts.
... And documentation.
Problem:
transferring meaning
gap of understanding / different "conceptual horizons"
So:
It's a Field of Philosophy about
... "[good] practice[s] of understanding"
... "transferring messages / ideas / meaning between subjects"
... bridging the gap between subjects
Structure:
[Subject expressing a message] ---> [The message in a medium] --> [subject receiving message]
Greek god Hermes was the active intermediary between the gods (who wouldn't directly talk to each other)
with feather sneakers
Mediums:
speech
text !!!
But so we lost Hermes as an active intermediary / "translator" / active hermeneutical agent
====================================================================
2. The possibility of computational / machine hermeneutics
Computational active intermediaries
Simple examples
... machine translation
... wikipedia unit conversion [relevant to Receivee]
... de-jargoning [relevant to Receivee]
Software?
... try to re-create your conceptual horizon
... and software as Hermes

Map someone's "conceptual horizon"
How would you call this?
