Title: Open Design Definition final workshop
Proposer: Massimo Menichinelli
Stream: Knowledge
Format: workshop
Idea: The Open Design Definition is still under development and need your help for improvement! After discussing it online and at many events including Open Knowledge Festival 2012, together we will discuss it and write it in order to reach a stable version. Further discussion on how to follow its development or on its implementation and related projects may also be part of the workshop.
Outcome: We expect the definition to reach at least version 0.5 if not already 1.0 (current version is 0.3)! The participants will discuss the definition, post comments, make improvements and write the definition together with the facilitators.
Requisites: a laptop/tablet/smartphone would be needed for the writing and discussing process, but you can participate even without them

Title: Let's create the first-ever issue of Miðli - A New Open Art Journal
Proposers: Kat Braybrooke, Mozilla Foundation // Christian Villum, OKF // ginger coons, Libre Graphics Mag (asked! TBC) // Eleanna Breza, M. Arch. student, Aristotle Univeristy of Thessaloniki
Stream: Knowledge
Format: Workshop / Hands-on Making Jam
Idea: A group of designers, makers, researchers and knoweldge advocates is working on a new open art journal -- the first of its kind -- called Miðli -- and we want your help! This journal will be a collaborative digital (and eventually, physical!) art magazine that examines the emergent tensions between practice and theory, policy and creativity, in an exploration of physical, machine + social spectrums. Miðli means between or among in old Norse, and as such the journal will focus on the emergent crossroads between (1) art, (2) technology, (3) law, and (4) society. Run by a diverse editorial team of practitioners around the world, Miðli will showcase art and design that packs a punch, and makers who aren't scared to be transformative -- and the focus of miðli won't end at the intersection of art and technology. In this workshop, we'll discuss the relevance of this journal compared to other publications in the field, and we'll form a group of editors, advisors and content producers to get it all started. All interested in magazine-building, journal-making, open knowledge-building and art-supporting welcome to come discuss, hack and make with us! Initial planning pad here; please feel free to add comments and ideas for discussion: https://kat.etherpad.mozilla.org/artmag

Title: Public Domain Remix session
Proposer: Primavera De Filippi / Christian Villum
Stream: Knowledge
Format: Workshop
Idea: The Public Domain Remix is an annual competition to remix public domain works, but could be a stand-alone session at OKFestival. The objective of this activity is to encourage the use and reuse of works, music, or other materials that are in the public domain (i.e. for which copyright has expired). For maximum appeal, it would be a music workshop where for instance members of Berlin's thriving under-the-radar music communities are invited to mashup public domain sounds.
